Roger François Lotte began making bows alongside his father, François, around 1936. He initially adopted his father's elegant and traditional style, but over time his bows took on more modern characteristics and a general heaviness. Consequently, his early work is more highly regarded. Lotte remained prolific after his father's death in 1970 and supplied bows to many firms in Paris and Mirecourt. He died in 1989.
