This punchy bow makes projection easy, as its tone is focused and bright. It pulls out a lot of sound without much work. When dialed back, it becomes delicate, allowing the cello to sing beautifully whilst adding color to the sound. Spicatto is no problem for this bow; it produces crisp articulations. This bow is ideal for warm cellos that need assistance in pulling more sound out while still maintaining warmth. In the hand this bow feels very smooth, allowing for a consistent contact point.

Vanderson Schaeffer, son of Floriano Schaeffer decided to enter the family business of bow making, following in his father's footsteps. Schaeffer learned bow making techniques from his father and continued on to study briefly with Pierre Guillaume of Brussels. He currently works for the Brazilian firm Arcos Brasil as one of their top bow makers and is responsible for making many of their special edition bows and master copies.
